Pay: $30–$45/hr

Key Responsibilities

Please note: the following outlines common duties, but responsibilities may vary day-to-day.

  • Adhere to all Buck’s Tree Service safety standards, including site hazard identification, use of proper barriers, and creation of effective work-site plans.
  • Complete daily truck logbooks, safety reports, and equipment documentation.
  • Operate vehicles with standard transmission and safely tow and back up trailers.
  • Competently operate industry-related equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, bucket trucks, hand saws, and pruners.
  • Perform all aspects of arboricultural work, including tree climbing, trimming, removals, and felling at various heights.
  • Lead crews effectively, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality of work.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, the public, coworkers, and management.
  • Maintain strong organizational skills and uphold company service standards on every job site

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Genuine interest and passion for the arboriculture industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional climbing experience required.
  • ISA Certification is considered an asset (or willingness to obtain).
  • TRAQ and additional industry certifications considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with clean driver’s abstract required.
  • First Aid certification considered an asset.
  • Fall arrest certification required.
  • Steel-toed work boots required.
  • Experience operating aerial lift devices or bucket trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on bucket trucks.
  • Knowledge of bucket truck safety standards and fall protection procedures.
  • Proficiency in using bucket controls safely when maneuvering around utility lines, structures, and tree canopies.
  • Aerial rescue training or willingness to obtain certification.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Physically capable of performing demanding, high-intensity tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Strong leadership abilities and the capability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in modern climbing systems.
  • Ability to set rigging systems for controlled tree removal.
  • Strong understanding of rope handling, knots, and rigging physics.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly.
  • Comfortable working at heights and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.

8-hour shifts, with overtime as needed. Monday to Friday (with weekend work as required).

Expected Start Date: April 1, 2026 (flexible depending on weather).

Compensation & Benefits
